Are the contestants, non-competing partners, their accompanists, choreographers and their performers provided with accommodation and meals?

Yes. Contestants, non-competing partners, choreographers, their performers and accompanists are provided by the hotel accommodation and 3-times meals by the Competition Board during the actual time of their competing and within two days after they finish their competing.

The Competition Board does not pay for the travel expenses.

The Competition Board does not pay for accommodation and meals for the teachers, parents and accompanying persons. 

What should be done if one of the partners of a duet belongs to another age division?

Traditionally in that case the program of Senior group should be performed. The other variant is that at Round I both partners perform “solo” program of their age division. For example – if the girl is junior, and the boy – senior (or vise versa), they should both  perform at Round I  two classical variations. At Round II and III  the duet  program - two classical pas de deux and modern dance (can be performed either solo or duo).

In this competition I saw a lot of talented young people, many amazing surprises... featuring himself, his work, each participant thus represented his country, the level of its culture. We all were interested to see what is happening in the world in the field of dance, what's new and significant.

The alarming tendency is that the contestants very often change the chorographical “texts”. This arises a strongest protest in me – I do not want to see the well-known choreography of a ballet masterpiece to be filled up with various “additions” which destroy its style and logic…Distortion of choreographer’s original texts is caused by the technical difficulties which make it hard to perform for the contestants. Then they make a “light version”. The situation is very irritating and requires certain amendments in the competition Regulations.
