XIV International Ballet Competition will be held in summer 2022.

The competition will take place between 3 and 11 June in Moscow in the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia.  

Being one of the most respected ballet competitions in the world, the International Ballet Competition has a state status and plays a significant part in the development of modern ballet art. Overall, for the last thirteen contests, there were 1 368 participants from 35 countries of the world.

The artistic director of the competition is People's Artist of the USSR, President of the International Union of Choreographers, choreographer of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, Professor Yuri Nikolaevich Grigorovich.

The competition is held every four years. The previous XIII contest was in 2017. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the XIV competition was postponed until 2022.

Founders of the competition are the Russian Federation Government and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and supported by the International Federation of the ballet competitions. The organizer of the XIV International Ballet Competition is FGBUK “ROSCONCERT”.
