The XV Moscow International Ballet Competition to Take Place from 25 June to 5 July
The upcoming Competition was announced by the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Olga Lyubimova:
“One of the foremost events in the world of choreography will, by tradition, take place on the stage of the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia. This year, the Competition is dedicated to the great master Yuri Grigorovich, who for more than fifty years served as the project’s permanent Artistic Director and Chairman of the Jury.
Applications will be accepted until 20 March. The jury will be composed of leading ballet artists and chaired by People’s Artist of Russia, Acting Rector of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography, and prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theatre, Svetlana Zakharova.
The International Ballet Competition is also a major cultural event for residents and visitors of the capital. During the Competition, specially curated exhibitions will be held in public spaces across the city and will be open to all. Audiences will also have the opportunity to attend all in-person selection rounds and the Gala Concert.
The International Ballet Competition stands beyond politics: the winners will be those who demonstrate the highest level of artistry. I am confident that the Competition will once again show that culture speaks a universal language and that art knows no borders.”
