Russian Post and the XV International Ballet Competition Bring Back Ballet Competition: Letters of Inspiration
Russian Post and the XV International Ballet Competition have announced the return of their successful joint initiative, Ballet Competition: Letters of Inspiration. This year, as the Competition takes place on the New and Historic Stages of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, audiences and guests will be invited to become part of a distinctive tradition by sending messages of inspiration around the world.
On 4 and 5 July, a temporary postal counter will operate in the foyer of the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia. Visitors will be able to receive, sign and send, free of charge, exclusive postcards issued in a limited edition specially for the XV International Ballet Competition. The postcards may be sent to friends and family anywhere in Russia and to many countries around the world.
This year’s limited-edition postcard series is dedicated to the XV International Ballet Competition and to Yuri Grigorovich, who chaired its international jury for more than half a century.
The initiative is a way to preserve and share the emotion, inspiration and beauty of ballet across generations and distances. It highlights not only the Competition’s international standing, but also its role in preserving and promoting the art of ballet and strengthening cultural ties.
The initiative was first held in 2022 as part of the XIV International Ballet Competition. Audiences and guests received more than 2,000 complimentary postcards and sent them to friends and family in over 30 Russian cities and 25 countries around the world.
